In our last post, we talked about the potential building freeze in Fort Mill, SC. Since then, a lot has happened. At their May 16 meeting, the York County Council voted down this proposal. So what does this mean for folks moving to Fort Mill, Rock Hill, and surrounding areas?

If the building freeze had passed, the amount of available housing in Fort Mill would have decreased. This could have meant more homes would be built in other parts of the county to accommodate those moving into the area. Or it could have caused people to move to South Charlotte or other parts of the Charlotte metro area.

It’s likely that this isn’t the end of the discussion on the housing supply in York County. But regardless of what happens, Smooth Move will be here to help you with all of your moving needs.
